Ray Ban was first thought to have been developed the Clubmaster sunglasses shape. However, the shape came out of the Browline glasses shape, but the style becoming synonymous with the Ray Ban Clubmaster range, purely due to the popularity of Ray Ban sunglasses.
The original Browline glasses shape was developed by Jack Rohbach of Shuron Ltd. in 1947. The Browline frame shape has been much copied (most notable by Ray Ban) and worn by numerous famous people.
