  Specialist Contact Lenses

Eyediology Opticians London is a centre of excellence in the dispensing of contact lenses, we have an ongoing process of education for our staff; this enables us to give you the best advice and service when it comes to your contact lens care.

It is not uncommon for a patient to present us with a prescription that requires a little more care to dispense, as getting the correct lens can mean the difference between good vision and great vision; and at Eyediology, we always aim for great vision.

For Astigmatism

People with astigmatism often felt that wearing contact lenses is not an option for them. This is not even slightly true. Eyediology Opticians stock a range of contact lenses specifically for the correction of astigmatisms either a soft toric contact lens or a gas permeable contact lens.

For Bifocal and Varifocal wearers (Multifocal Contact Lenses)

Contact  lenses have been thought of as an item that cannot be worn by varifocal glasses wearers. This is patently untrue. The misconception is that two prescriptions are needed for the glasses (for near and distance vision) and those contact lenses would not be able to accommodate this. Eyediology Opticians can fit you with one of a large range of specially designed contact lenses that will enable you to see much more clearly at almost any distance.

For Patients with Eye Conditions/ Injuries

Contact lenses can be the only option for patients with certain eye conditions and injuries in which glasses would not be able to correct their vision.

For instance, in patients with keratoconus, vision cannot be corrected with glasses, only by wearing specialised contact lenses can they achieve clearer vision. Eyediology currently do not fit Keratoconus contact lenses however can refer you to an appropriate practitioner.

In some significant eye injuries where glasses would be of no use, special contact lenses are used to reduce the effects of the injury. Such as with damage to the iris that can cause the effect of seeing a persistent glare, the wearing of specially designed contact lenses can reduce this effect, thus giving much need clarity to the patients vision. You may have a condition that has disfigured your eye in some way, the use of cosmetic contact lenses can go some way to improving the look of your eyes.

If these are concerns of yours and you would like to be fitted for contact lenses please do not hesitate to contact us and ask our ever ready staff, they will be more than happy to answer any inquiry.
