Mykita Sunglasses

Mykita derives their name from ‘Kita’ the common acronym for Kindertagesstätte, a nod to the design company’s first premises in a former day-care nursery. Set up by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philip Haffmans and Moritx Krueger in 2004 Mykita become renowned for their hand assembled frames.

Mykita strive for quality above all and with two of the eye world’s most innovative designers they seek to outperform where others have not, both in focus on the demand for style yet also top quality. The highest standard of workmanship is attained and produced in-house at their Berlin-based headquarters. Mykita received the iF Product Design Reward in 2010. Since 1953, this reward has been recognized as a symbol of high quality and good design, which encompasses what Mykita has strived for and maintains to embellish as it goes forward in the future.

The many styles of Mykita design are very fashionable yet a world apart as there are many styles that embody what style and design was truly meant to become. They are recognized not only for their style but for their high standard craftsmanship, which uses an all new way of constructing designer glasses; using highly innovative interconnecting mean screws are not required to assemble the highly engineered frames.

The Mykita Franz made its big screen debut in Sex and the City 2, worn by Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw)
