Ray Ban is thought to have come up with the Clubmaster glasses shape but infact they were originally known as Browline glasses, the style becoming synonymous with the Ray Ban Clubmaster range.

Developed by Jack Rohbach of Shuron Ltd. in 1947, the Browline frame shape has been much copied (most notable by Ray Ban) and worn by numerous famous people.

Also sometimes known as Clubman glasses, the Clubmaster glasses shape is a true classic in the American tradition.
