Appointment Booking & Cancellation Policy

Booking Your Appointment

A non-refundable booking fee of £65 is required to secure all appointments at both practices. This booking fee will be deducted from your total appointment cost on the day of your visit. The booking fee applies to all appointments, including eye examinations and consultations. Your booking is provisional until the booking fee is paid. Payment must be made by the end of the same day you book, or your appointment slot may be released to other clients. Once payment is received, you will receive an email confirming your appointment.

For the most up-to-date information on appointment fees at each practice, please see:

Blackheath Eyecare: https://www.blackheatheyecare.co.uk/the-eye-test/eye-test-fees/

Eyediology: https://www.eyediologyopticians.co.uk/fees/

The booking fee is always set at the lowest appointment fee available in practice (currently £65) and will be redeemed against your total fee on the day of your visit.

1. Changing or Cancelling Your Appointment

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us no later than 2pm the day before your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule before this deadline, your booking fee can be carried over to a new appointment date once. If you cancel after 2pm the day before, do not attend, arrive too late for the assessments to be completed, or reschedule more than once, your booking fee will be lost, and a new booking fee will be required to arrange another appointment. Cancellations and changes can be made by phone, email, or WhatsApp (see contact details below).

2. Why Do We Charge a Booking Fee?

Late cancellations and missed appointments reduce availability for other clients and impact our ability to provide timely care. The booking fee helps ensure fair access for all and supports the smooth running of our clinics.

3. Exceptional Circumstances

We allow a 5 minute grace period. If you are running late but arrive within the allotted time, we will endeavour to complete all appropriate tests in the remaining time available. If we are unable to complete your appointment within this time, another appointment will need to be scheduled to complete the remaining tests and will be charged accordingly.

We understand that emergencies and unforeseen situations can arise. If you believe your circumstances are exceptional, please contact us as soon as possible and we will review your case individually.
